Laura was born to Ronald and Patricia Bekker in 1966 in Jenison, MI. Laura graduated from Jenison High School in 1984 and went on to get a bachelor's degree in business management from Phoenix University. On December 4, 1993, she married William "Bill" McLain, who was her faithful sweetheart for 30 years. Laura was a devoted, loving wife, mother, and sister.
Laura's smile and cheerful personality immediately lit up any room she entered. She was a lively presence with her colorful clothes, beautiful eyes, signature red nails, and bubbly personality. She deeply loved her friends and family and filled her home with warmth and kindness.
She was a doer. If you needed help getting something done, everyone knew they could count on Laura to take care of it. She excelled at propping up others and loving them through their difficulties and passions. Laura was feisty and outspoken in all the best ways; she had an uncanny ability to tell you the hard things while cheering you on. Laura's kind and empathic nature made her a trusted confidant to countless people. She generously helped others, joyfully shared her time, and was happiest when strolling down memory lane.
Laura is survived by her mother; husband, Bill; children Zachery (Christina) McLain, Mitchell McLain, Catherine (Jacob) Robrahn, and Tanner McLain; and sisters Lisa Bekker and Amy (Michael) Leach; grandchildren Cayden, Hadleigh, Brooklyn, Jackson, and Beau; nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her father.
Laura will be desperately missed by all those that she has left behind. She was one of a kind, and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
