AMES - Lawrence Ames, age 87 of Lowell, went to be with his Lord Friday, November 5, 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine. Surviving are his children, Lawrence Ann Ames Jr. of Grand Rapids, Florence Whyte of Grand Rapids; step-son Lynn Judy Doehring of Lowell, step-daughter Lorna Dick Moore of Grand Rapids; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday at the United Wesleyan Church, 5440 Wilson SW. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the United Wesleyan Church Memorial Fund.
