Larry’s passions in life included writing and photography. He began writing at the age of 13. When he was 21 he wrote his first novel. Larry’s first job after college was writing for the Grand Rapids Press for 14 years, covering many different aspects of community events. He loved writing and was very talented. Larry wrote and self-published five books as well as many short stories.
Writing led to photography. He began taking photos while writing for the Press and loved that part of his job. This led to the opening of his own photography business and running it for the last 15 years. He began the business by photographing graduations and weddings, but eventually his business transcended to teaching local photographers how to improve and hone their talents. He taught many classes to all levels of skill.
Family was more important than anything to Larry. He loved camping, travel and planning for upcoming events. He was a man of many talents and loved by everyone who met him.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 AM at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center Chapel, 2067 84th SW, Byron Center, with Rev. Stephen Dudek officiating.
