

BASSETT Lois Ann (Hodges) Bassett, age 88 went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Lois served her country proudly during WWII with the US Navy. After the war, she moved to Vermont and later to Arizona with her family. In 1995 she returned to her home state of Michigan where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a long-time member of The American Legion and VFW.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Louise Hodges; son, David Bassett; daughter, Phyllis Freesh; sister, Phyllis Blanchard; brothers, Phil Hodges, James Hodges, and John "Raya?? Hodges; and son-in-law, Harry McKinley. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Michael (Pam) Bassett, John (Jane) Bassett, Michael (Melissa) Freesh, Kathleen McKinley, Yvette (Jim) DeJarnatt; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Brown; brother, Karl (Barb) Hodges; sister-in-law, Ruth Hodges; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 AM at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center Chapel, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet Lois' family Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of her service at the funeral home.
