
SAXON - Lorelei Patricia Saxon, of Jenison, passed away at her home on January 16, 2006. She is survived by her husband Richard; daughters Laura Steve Shoemaker of Caledonia, MI and Cheryl Kaufman of Cave Creek, AZ; seven grandchildren Sarah, Rebeccaa, Erica, Aaron, Katrina, Stephanie and Summer; brother James Meta Parker of Alaska, and sisters Maxine Franklin of Texas and Moonyeen DeSmidt of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, on sister, and two brothers. Her birthplace was Warroad, Minnesota on the Canadian border. Finishing high school at 17, she joined her sister Jacqueline in Washington, D.C. to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, earning enough to put herself through Minneapolis Business College, graduating as a private secretary. She then attended Hope College, majoring in music and language. Later she worked for the United Auto Workers and was a member of the Ottawa County Canvassing Board for 17 years. Mrs. Saxon wished cremation. Visitation is at the Cook Funeral Home, in Jenison, 1889 Baldwin St. on Thursday, January 19, 2006, from 7-9 pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
