Lorraine Jean Hughes

Hughes - Lorraine Jean Hughes age 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Whispering Woods Assisted Living Facility in Grand Rapids, MI. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI on June 3, 1928 the daughter of Gerritt and Dena (Brondyke) Van Dam Sr. She married Clark Hughes Jr. on May 10, 1947 in Grand Rapids. He preceded her in death in March 1975. She was very proud of her over fifty years of service with Meijer.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Hughes; grandchildren, Amy (Israel) Ybarra, Andy (Katie) Weatherbee; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter, Nancy Weatherbee.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building) with Pastor Gary Leyendecker officiating. Friends may call at the Cook Memorial Chapel from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
