Mamie Clara Hicks TerAvest, age 96, peacefully passed and is in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was greeted by her beloved husband, Gerard “Jerry” TerAvest, whom she has dearly missed for the past ten years.
Born to Edwin and Mamie Hicks in Warren County, NC, on August 24, she was an only child who adored her parents. She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Mamie Hicks; her loving husband, Gerard “Jerry” TerAvest; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She is survived and will be missed by several nieces and nephews, as well as a few close friends from her home in Glen Allen, VA.
Mamie will be remembered for her devotion to her faith, kindness to others, and her love for her husband, Jerry, as well as for her parents.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Her graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2026, at Westhampton Memorial Park in Richmond, Virginia.
