She was preceded in death by her husband Richard F. Atkinson.
She is survived by her children Douglas Atkinson and Elizabeth (Brook Freeman) Atkinson; grandchildren Katherine, Alexander and James Atkinson-Freeman; her brother Richard (Wende) Harper; several nieces and nephews; and grand-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Park Congregational Church, 10 East Park Place, N.E., Grand Rapids, with Rev. Todd Petty officiating. There will be a time to visit with the family one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
