

Margaret was born in Caledonia, MI, to Joseph and Marion (Bleam) Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jenkins; sons Gary Jenkins and David Banfill Jr.; brothers George, Harold, Lyle, and William Smith; and sister, Anna Mae Simons.
Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her sons Steve (Jan) Banfill, Ben Banfill, and Robert (Venessa) Jenkins; daughters Margie (Ron) Wilson, and Gail Jenkins; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; siblings Carl (Martha) Smith, Alice (Howard) Perrin, Robert (Joyce) Smith and Ruthie Eastwood.
Margaret spent many years working at Fred’s Market in Home Acres and at Earl Robson’s Department Store on Division Ave. She was a member of Maplelawn Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir. Margaret loved being with family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and taking care of her family. She especially enjoyed cooking and will always be remembered for the best rhubarb pie!! Bowling, travel, playing Scrabble and music were all favorite parts of her life.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St., SW, Grandville, MI. The family will meet with relatives and friends from 5 - 7 PM on Monday, June 11 at the funeral home, as well as one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Margaret’s memory to VanAndel Institute for Cancer Research or American Diabetes Association.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to American House and Kindred Hospice for the compassion shown in the final months of Margaret’s life.
