Marilyn Obuchowski

OBUCHOWSKI (MICKAM) Marilyn Obuchowski, age 72, passed away, Tuesday, July 2, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merrill and Mary "Isabelle" Mickam. Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years, James Obuchowski; her daughter, Renee (Steve) Goetzinger; her grandchildren, Evan and Emma Goetzinger; siblings, Richard (Loretta) Mickam, Betty (Michael) Livezey, Charles Mickam; and her nieces and nephews.

Marilyn enjoyed card games, board games and dominoes and was known to be quite the competitor. She also loved to travel; they seemed to be gone more than they were home. Summers were spent at the cottage up on Big Whitefish Lake, reading with her eyes closed out on the boat. "Grandma Days" were spent with Evan and Emma; those memories will be cherished. Marilyn was involved in the M.C. Blodgett Guild at Spectrum - Blodgett Hospital. Her battle with cancer was not long, but was fought very hard.

A time for relatives and friends to visit with Marilyn's family will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Friday, July 5, at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 - 84th St. SW. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center. In honor of Marilyn, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or a Charity of One's Choice.
