Marion Alexander Cholewa

CHOLEWA Mr. Marion Alexander Cholewa, age 91, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Marion was born August 15, 1923 in Detroit, MI to John and Helen Cholewa. He is also preceded by his brother, Henry Cholewa Sr.

He served his country faithfully during WWII in the Pacific Theater with the US Navy. He was as member of the Roger B Chaffee American Legion Post #154, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus Immaculate Conception Council in Garden City, MI. He retired from Ford Motor Company after a 38 year career with their accounting department.

Marion will be deeply missed by his wife of 66 years, Lillian; children, Sharon (Tom) Felton, Laura (Daniel) Kempisty, and Debbie Cholewa Prew; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Delores Trepkowski; and nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, 10 AM, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson SW, Grandville, with Rev. Chris Rouech presiding. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet his family Friday from 3-8 PM at the Cook Funeral Home (west building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, and Saturday from 9-10 AM at St. Pius X Church. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 PM, Friday at the funeral home. His family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcares.com. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Faith Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
