Raised a Roman Catholic, Marge followed many religious traditions. It was not until her mid-life years that she started to read the Bible and subsequently made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and became a born-again Christian. She found great fulfillment and joy in her Christian life. Marge was committed for decades to New Horizons Ministry Assembly of God, and was a vital member of the Oasis group at the church. After her conversion to Christianity, she loved to read/study the Bible, sing hymns, and pray for people. She spent time with the sick and those near death to make sure that they had peace with the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Marge enjoyed travel, including several vacations to Florida, and trips to Europe, Israel, Russia, and China. A portion of her trip to Israel and Russia was dedicated to ministering to the elderly and poor; she had a great love for the Jewish people and Israel. The China trip entailed the smuggling of Bibles into the country. Marge was known for her great generosity and wanted others to find comfort and relief in the Name of Jesus.
Marge leaves behind her son, Thomas Cecil and daughter, Ann Bos, and their spouses Carol Cecil and Jack Bos; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband of over 40 years, Theodore Cecil, passed away in 1996 – but Marge always knew that she would see him again in heaven. What a great assurance we have as born-again Christians to know that we will meet again in heaven!
A private family meeting will honor Marge’s life. In memory of Marge, donations may be sent to: Compassion International, Colorado Springs, CO 80997 or The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, 30 N. LaSalle St, Suite 4300, Chicago, IL 60602-2584. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.
