Marleen Joyce Cook, age 93, of Wyoming, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 23, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Lester Cook; son-in-law, Dan Storey; grandson, Zeke Metzger; and brother, Wally Bobeldyke. Surviving are her children Gail Storey, Doug and Chris Cook, Brenda and Bob Austin, Larry and Brenda Cook, and Sandi and Chad Metzger; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Judy Bobeldyke; special friend, Stan O’Brien; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family was at the heart of everything Marleen did, and she was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother to her core. She was opinionated, sassy, and fun-loving. Many afternoons were spent cheering on her favorite sports teams with enthusiasm. She liked taking a trip to the casino or the bowling alley to enjoy time with friends in her younger years. Each year, she and Les enjoyed traveling in their RV, following the seasons and spending winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and summers at Oak Grove Resort. Both places became gathering spots filled with laughter, food, and memories that her loved ones will always treasure. Marleen will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service. Pastor John Nauta will be officiating. Private interment will be at Boynton Cemetery.
