
BELISLE Kirchhoff – Mary Elizabeth Belisle passed away on September 1, 2008. Mary was born in Detroit, MI on July 20, 1922 to John and Frances Minnie Kirchhoff. She was united in marriage to her dearly loved husband, Rene Joseph Joe Belisle, on June 25, 1949. She is survived by her husband, Rene; two loving children, Judith Mary Dale Tritten of Harrison, MI and James Gerard Diana Belisle of Wyoming, MI; two grandchildren, Daniel Tritten and Kristine Tritten; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Maggie McLean; one sister, Sister Mary Conrad, PHJC of Donaldson, IN; one brother, Edward Kirchhoff of Ocala, FL; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her dear parents; two children, Rene James and Margaret Mary Belisle; and two brothers, Francis and John Kirchhoff.
Mary was a gifted musician and artist. She taught piano and organ for the Wurlitzer Company and for the Archdiocese of Detroit, as well as private lessons at her home in Allen Park, MI. She was the organist and school secretary at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Parish in Taylor, MI and organist for the VA hospital in Allen Park, MI. She loved to play the piano and organ, paint and draw. She taught cake decorating and created many beautiful wedding and birthday cakes for family and friends. She was an active leader in Camp Fire Girls and Cub Scouts. Mary and Joe spent many years in Findlay, OH where she enjoyed being a member of St. Michael's Parish. In 2005, she moved to Wyoming, MI where she became a member of the St. Pius X Parish. She was very proud of her faith.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Pius X Catholic Church 3937 Wilson, Grandville with Fr. Chris Rouech officiating. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Grandville Chapel of the Cook Funeral Home, 4235 Prairie SW, West Building. The Rosary will be prayed 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
