Mary Katherine Bussa (Baker)

BUSSA-Mary Katherine Bussa (Baker) age 88 of Byron Center went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 12, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Mary (Kalchik) Baker; husband Lloyd Bussa; her daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Larry Swarthout and her sister Verna May Ross.

She is survived by her son Jay (Judy A.) Bussa; her grandchildren Chad (Kelly) Bussa, Sara Bussa (John) Bedingham; Christopher Swarthout and Scott Swarthout; step grandchildren, Joel and Kimberly Carter, Gerry and Danielle Ball, and Michelle Schneider; many great grandchildren; her sisters Berniece (Paul) Hallstedt and Vivian (Robert) Bostwick and special friend Emigail Fisk. Mary Katherine retired from Brown Elementary after thirty-two years of teaching service to the Byron Center community.

The Memorial Service will be held 11 am Friday at Carlisle United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Ramsey officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center, 2067 84th St. Memorial contributions may be made to Brown Elementary.
