I knew Jake for just a very short time but he made a lasting imprint on my heart. God shone through his life and that was very influential. I wish my children would have a father like Jake and my grandchildren would have a grandfather like him. He was a model of a Christlike man to me bringing forth all of the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

I had the priviledge of serving with Jake on the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners. One thing I always admired about Jake is you always new where he stood on an issue. Jake was always willing to say the things you were thinking but did not dare to say. I admired him for that straightforwareness. My sympathy and God Bless You.
