Merideth "Sam" A. Finnie

Merideth “Sam” A. Finnie, age 79, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Sam was born on October 11, 1938 in Grand Rapids, MI. She enjoyed sewing (especially making doll clothes) and attending local craft sales. Numerous crafts Sam had made were proudly displayed in her own home. She was an avid reader of mystery books later in her life. Sam was a faithful member and attender of Wayland United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Finnie; parents Esther (Dave) Miller and Robert (Leona) Clark; sons Gregory Davis and Donald Scott Davis; grandson, Gregory Lynema; and sisters Nancy Quick and Sandy Fredrich.

She will be deeply missed by her children Cindy (Richard) Lynema, Shelle (Mike) Hartsock, and Donald (Jan) Davis Jr.; grandchildren Stephanie Hartsock, Alyson Hartsock, Catherine Lynema, Victoria Lynema, Genifer White, and Joshua Davis; two great-grandchildren; and sisters Joyce Fetzer, and Roberta Daniels.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Grand Rapids. Her family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcares.com.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Sam may be made to Faith Hospice.
