Merle E. Meengs

Merle E. Meengs, age 86, of Byron Center, went to be with his Lord, Friday, June 11, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ida Meengs, his first wife, Mina Schierbeek Meengs in 1985, his brother John, and his sister Beth Hop. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Evelyn Zuiderveen Meengs; his children, Ron Phis Meengs, David Mary Meengs, Jan Vic Spaanstra, Deb Arlin Brock, Rich Leona Meengs, Bob Cindy Meengs; his step-children Conroy Joanie Zuiderveen, Kenneth Beth Zuiderveen, Sharon Todd Ouellette, Margien Keith Hendricks, Marianne Glen Coughenour, Dawn Jim Fennema; his 37 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren.

He was a charter member of Byron Center Second Christian Reformed Church. He worked for Keeler Brass for 38 years.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Sunday at the Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 - 84th St. SW. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday at Byron Center Second Christian Reformed Church, 7588 Byron Center Ave.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Biblical Counseling Worldwide for Merle's son David & Mary's missionary work in India.
