Michael Roy Cummings

CUMMINGS Michael Roy Cummings, age 63, went to be with his Lord, Friday, December 19, 2014. He was preceded in death by his son, Isaac Cummings. Michael will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Lee (Jane) Cummings, Steve (Kristin) Cummings; his grandchildren, Ashley, Jared and Tiffany Cummings; his parents, Roy and Joan Cummings; his siblings, Richard Cummings, John Cummings, Kathy Morris; and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was an empathetic & compassionate friend to everyone he met both emotionally and spiritually. He was a passionate Detroit professional sports fan and enjoyed playing semi-pro softball and baseball in his younger years. Michael also enjoyed reading and writing. Known as "Mickey" to his friends and family, he was an entrepreneur and counselor, was recognized as "Michigander of the Year" by Governor Blanchard. He was also a graduate of Minister's Training School (MTS) and Counselor's Training School (CTS) from Mt. Zion in Clarkston, MI. Michael was a much loved grandfather and one of a kind father to his sons.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held 1 PM Monday, December 22, at Mt. Zion Church, 4900 Maybee Rd. in Clarkston, MI 48348, with visitation prior to the service beginning at noon. Pastor Loren Covarrubias will be officiating. Interment will be at Ottawa Park Cemetery.
