
Surviving are her daughter, Judy Leonard and son-in-law, Richard Leonard of Jenison; son, Ronald Blett and daughter-in-law, Genese Diane Blett of Littleriver, CA; grandson, Todd Leonard of Gainesville, FL; granddaughter, Laura Leonard and great grandson, Zephaniel Leonard of Jenison; granddaughter, Oakley Springer Blett of Littleriver, CA; cousins, nieces, nephews and several special friends.
Mrs. Blett was born in Barryton, MI, was graduated from the Grand Rapids Union High School and from Grand Rapids Business College. Mrs. Blett committed many years to the family business, The Photo Reporter, where she fulfilled several positions in the management and operations of the business. She also served on the davenport College Alumni Board. Mildred was a life member of Alpha Iota International Sorority and of AMVETS Post 23. She was also involved with the West Michigan Genealogy Society, Daughters of the Union and was identified as a descendant of a Pioneer Family of Michigan. She learned many handcrafts including bobbin lace and basketry. Mildred was a student and leader in the study of genealogy, having identified over 250 surnames in her own lineage.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2000 at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 2131 S. Division Ave. with Pastor Joe Bistayi of Georgetown United Methodist Church officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to service. Interment Flake Cemetery, Barryton, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Foundation - Hospice.
