Nancy Swift

Nancy Ann Swift (Nietering), age 58, passed away October 30, 2023. Nancy was born in Grand Rapids to Fred and Audrey Nietering. She graduated from Northview High School in 1983 and from Michigan State School of Nursing in 1987. She went on to work in hospitals and as a home care nurse in the greater Detroit and Grand Rapids areas. Most recently, she was a courier for local pharmacies. She lived a life of service, helping family and patients with her cheerful outlook, capable hands, and medical expertise. Nancy was an avid gardener. She loved nature, especially birds, and spending time with her family and her many pets. She was a devoted daughter, wife, and mom.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Spencer Swift; three sons Mitchell Bartlett, Derek Bartlett, and Stephen Swift; siblings Vicki (Jan) Stefan and Alan (Donna) Nietering. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Emily Nietering and Stacy Swift; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Audrey; and brother, Ken Nietering.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan 49418, with visitation from 12-1 p.m. prior to the service.
