With hearts full of love, we remember the beautiful life of Nancy Warner, who left us on August 10, 2025, at the age of 91. With family by her side, she passed away peacefully knowing she was ready to enter into her eternal resting place. She has left behind a tapestry of love, kindness, and goodness that has been etched into our hearts forever.
Mom was born in Rothbury, MI, before moving to Wyoming, MI, where she would marry the love of her life, Arnold, and raise three children. She graduated from Wyoming Park High School and the Blodgett School of Nursing. She spent most of her career working at Ferguson Hospital in colorectal surgery. Nursing wasn’t just a career for Mom, it was a way of life that extended into the neighborhood and her community. Summers were spent at the cottage on Blue Lake while we were growing up, providing many fond childhood memories. Upon retirement, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mom loved to travel with Dad and her entourage of friends and family. They spent 25 years wintering in Orange Beach, providing family and friends with a vacation spot. She was a true master in the craft of knitting, crocheting, and baking, often giving these gifts of love away. Her calming and grounding presence provided her with the ability to get things done in life for the people she loved. Mom had an unwavering faithfulness to her family and her faith. She was a longtime member of Wyoming Park United Methodist Church, attending from 1938 until her death.
She leaves behind her children Robert Warner (Cathy), Joe Warner (Ivy), Karla VerHage (Ron); grandchildren Brandon, Corey (Ashley), Gabrielle, Kyle, Megan; three great-grandchildren; brother, William (Pat); sister, Sara (David); and sisters-in-law, Karen and Barb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Warner; parents Ted and Agnes Braford; seven siblings; and eight in-laws.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Wyoming Park United Methodist Church, 2244 Porter St. SW, Wyoming, MI, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. prior to service. In honor of Nancy and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wyoming Park UMC, Faith Hospice, or the Marfan Foundation. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
