Nellie R. Miller

MILLER (Geelhoed) a?" Nellie R. Miller, age 91, of Grand Rapids (formerly of Wyoming), went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 24, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Roger Miller and sister, Arlene Vollink.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Roger (Janice) Miller, Jr of NY, Stephen (Donna) Miller of BC, and David (Donna) Miller of CA; grandchildren, Kevin Miller and Julie Overbeek; great granddaughter, Faith Overbeek; siblings, Adrianna Williams, MaryJane Mulder, Jack (Esther) Geelhoed, and Jeri (Bob) Bushouse; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Nellie was a very strong Christian woman who was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. She loved gardening and singing and was an expert seamstress. Nellie spent many hours as a volunteer at the Wyoming Public Library as well as the library at the Terraces of Maple Creek. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at the Terraces and the Woods of Maple Creek for the loving care shown to their mother.

The funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday in the Chapel at the Terraces of Maple Creek, 2000 32nd SE, Grand Rapids, with Chaplain Becky Ebb-Speese officiating. Interment will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Cook Funeral Home 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville (West Building).
