It is with profound sadness that we share the news of Nicholas Tate Dodger’s transcendence. He was 32, a childhood brain cancer survivor, who lived with an unwavering and inspiring determination, exceptional courage, compassion, and an immeasurable appreciation for every moment. His sudden passing on Friday, May 22, 2026 was in the blink of an eye, leaving an immense void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. His memory and spirit will be forever cherished.
Greeting Nick with loving open arms as he transcended were Grandma Elenore and Grandpa David Dodger; Grandma Catherine and Grandpa Henry Holland Sr.; and Great-Aunt Betty and Uncle Al Vecchio.
His memory will live on, cherished and honored by his devoted parents Robert and Pamela Dodger; and by the vast circle of his beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, who will keep his spirit alive in their hearts, until they meet again. Uncles and aunts: William with Gladys Dodger, Diana Ramsey, David with Cheryl Dodger, Henry Jr. with Tonya Holland, Sandra Holland, and Melissa Holland; first cousins: Kailey Silva, Karissa Holland, Emily Pinson, Kirk Shoemaker, Tami Ekster, Kim Vecchio, Tina Vecchio, Judi Vecchio, Jerod Ramsey, Jeremy Dodger, Justin Dodger, Ashley Dodger, Ryan Dodger, and Aron Dodger; and very best friends Jeremy Schnyders and Kenyon Carter Owen.
There will be private family services for Nicholas.
In honor of Nicholas, contributions may be made to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, where Nick spent so much of his childhood with the wonderful medical and child life specialist staff. Donations can help support the incredible care and compassionate environment that made a significant difference in his life and the lives of so many other children. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
