Paul McCatty and Michael Caughran cooking steak at the lake house.  The McCatty’s and Caughran’s had a great time and Paul took Michael and Veronika tubing for the first time.  At night Paul and Jill McCatty and Clint and Jarka Caughran played cards against humanity and Paul stacked the deck with the funniest cards on top.  He had Jarka reading them with her innocent Czech accent and it was the most hilarious thing I have ever heard.  I don’t think we’ve ever laughed so hard.  I was crying with laughter and my belly hurt the next day!

Hey Cousin,  I didn't know you also had the honor of knowing Paul.  He was a great man and will be missed dearly.  Thinking of you as you also continue to go through the journey after losing your Dad.

My son, Clint Caughran, and Paul were best buddies. Their friendship began in high school and continued until his passing. I remember how much they enjoyed being with each other---teasing each other, belly laughing at their antics. They were so close and looked alike physically that some people thought they were brothers and even twins!
Clint will miss him dearly. 
I will remember his cheerfulness. I thank him for being such a good friend to Clint.
My prayers are with Paul's family. 
He was a wonderful person. He will live on in our memories.

Jill is my cousin and my sister. We grew up across the street from each other. She is our triplet with my twin Pauline. We’ve spent almost every moment together growing up. When we met Paulie, he was like a brother. My husband, Keith, was best buds with Paulie in High school and beyond. I actually met my husband at Paul and Jill’s wedding. We were both in the wedding party. We are Raegan’s Godparents and they are my youngest, Max’s, Godparents. 
This is just so terribly heartbreaking to loose Paul. We have so many memories of Paul. My husband and I have been talking about so many awesome times we’ve had together.
Jill, Brendan, Lauren and Raegan, I love you guys so much. I hope in time, your sadness will fade but the memories will always be there and Paul’s love will forever be in your heart. :heart::heart::heart::heart:

There’s no words that will ever make things okay losing Paul. I had just lost my father January 20th and one of the very first friends to call was McCatty to offer his support. Our son Tyler played hockey with Brendan, and instantly I became friends with all the dads on the team, but none were like Paul, he just had a way with people, bringing a smile to your face and telling some funny stories. I remember when we were in Blaine, MN for our playoffs and I needed a room for the night, Pauly was like just come crash with me, literally he meant that, we shared a bed and it was about the funniest nights sleep I’ve ever had, he and another dad, Wingerter, just took me in and shared their room like I was an old childhood friend. There’s not a day that will go by that I won’t think of him. Our deepest condolences to the McCatty Family. We’ve lost one of the greatest guys I’ve ever known! There are not enough words to express the deep sorrow we have for the loss of your husband and father.  There are 20+ years worth of memories we have of Paul, you and the kids. Paul was an amazing boss when he gave me my first job move to Michigan from Texas. He is a wonderful person inside and out and will truly be missed. My prayers go out to Jill and the family I love and miss you all hugs and kiss from here in Texas.

Jill, Brendan, Lauren and Reagan- My deepest sympathy to you all.  I talked to Paul a couple weeks ago and shared memories of you all in Good Hart and riding horses as a little boy.  I found pictures of that memory.  I’ll try to share.   He will live in my heart forever.  Love to you all.

We moved across the street nearly 20 years ago and we all kind of went through the whole adulting, kids, and parenting things together; it was a great run and we will miss Paul so, so much.  From Brendan rollerblading all over the street (and/or rolling the car into the light pole as a kid) to Raegan being born and everything after, it has been great sharing life with you guys.  We are right here, always.

Paul was a great neighbor and friend. He was always quick to say hello, invested in knowing how you are doing and fun to be around. His smiling face and friendly wave hello will certainly be missed. RIP Paul.

Thousands of memories with you, every holiday for my entire life... all of the birthdays, the summer parties. Playing King of the Dock in the summer on the lake, learning to water ski and ice skate, snowmobile races across the frozen lake. We grew up like siblings, I can’t remember a family memory without you. I love you, I hope you are at peace now.
