Philip E. Elve

ELVE - Mr. Philip Elve, age 77, of Grand Rapids, passed away at Clark Retirement Community, on Saturday, September 1, 2001. Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather has left his earthly home and is now in the glorious presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was a quiet and dependable man with a wonderful smile and great sense of humor. He was a Naval veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific on the USS Sheridan.

Phil was employed as a machinist for 41 years at Dexter Lock. While he will be deeply missed by his family and friends, we know that we will see him again, healthy and whole, in our heavenly home. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Surviving are his wife, Lois; his children Larry Penny Elve, Janice Jim Dykstra and Robin Mike Schreur; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Kenneth Marie Elve, Daniel Elve, David Kim Elve and his sister, Beth Lindhout. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Calvary Church I-96 & the East Beltline with Pastor James Carlson officiating.

Interment will be at the Georgetown Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville west building, 4235 Prairie, Grandville. Memorial contributions may be made to Clark Retirement Community Benevolent Fund or the Calvary Church Mission Fund.
