

He was preceded in death by his parents Elsie and C. Allen Austin. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Julie Austin; children Terie (Todd) McCalmont, Donna (Bill) Terpstra, Mike (Sherry) Austin, and Janet Elling; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Beverly (Bill) Sutton; in-laws Art (Joyce) Coffman, Jim Schutte, Donna (Marv) DeVries; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Phil was a faithful and loving husband, father and grandfather. He took great joy in attending his children's and grandchildren's events and sharing in their lives. Though Phil was a truck driver, his passion was missions. Phil had a servant's heart and, through the years, used his talents as a carpenter to serve churches, camps and ministries.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9 at Cook Funeral Home (West Building), 4235 Prairie St., S.W., Grandville, MI. A celebration of Phillip's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10 at Grandville Bible Church, 4122 - 44th Street, S.W., Grandville, MI. Pastor Tom Couch will be officiating. Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery.
