Phyllis Ann Doerfer

Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Russell; children, Kathy Doerfer of Viroqua, WI, Eric Doerfer of East Grand Rapids, Joan and John Dykhouse of Jenison and Anne and Rick Pasquino of Husdonville; her precious grandchildren, Justin, Julie and Joshua Dykhouse and Erika and Nicholas Pasquino; sisters Ruth Martin of Grand Rapids, Delores Don Eads and Gladys Marion Jolly all of Plymouth, IN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary Doerfer of Mt. Pleasant, Eldon Rita Doerfer of Weidman, MI, Julia Mrazek of Mt. Pleasant, Gerry Ed Melinn of Marquette, MI, Jean Nick Chybinski of Alexandria, VA, Ellen Doerfer of Walnut Creek, CA, Violet Robinson of Rosebush, MI and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Phyllis enjoyed her trips with Russell in their motor home, which took them throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

She had a love of history, especially the Civil War, and was a member of the Civil War Roundtable.

Her curiosity and interest in history inspired her to trace her roots back to the early 1800’s.

She was a member of the Grand Rapids Antique Auto Club and the Grand A’s and as a member of Bread of Life Lutheran Church she enjoyed being actively involved with the church’s quilting ministry.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14 from the Cook Funeral Home, 1889 Baldwin St. in Jenison, with Pastor John Hitzeroth officiating.

Interment in Floral View Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may meet her family on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Russell and his family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Holland Home for their loving care of Phyllis.
