As a member of the Grandville Class of 1981, he was an active member of the Grandville Wrestling program throughout his life, and was then a graduate of Ferris State University where he continued on with the love of the sport. Randy was most recently the V.P. of sales at A.P.P., which he loved and was very successful at. You could often find him on his Harley Davidson, living wild and free, riding with his wife and some of his best friends. Although his biggest legacy is his family - wife, Denise, son, Zachary, and daughter, Meghan - whom he loved with all of his heart. Randy will always be remembered as being larger than life, loud, boisterous, opinionated, infuriating, funny, loving, and always there when you needed him. He was quick with a bear hug or arm around the shoulder, and you can never forget his mischievous eyes, naughty smile, and being the absolute biggest goob ever. He loved fiercely and was loved by many.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bob VanderWiere (Wiere), Bob and Pat Versluis, and Ron Palmer. He is survived by his mother, Marilyn VanderWiere; wife of 27 years, Denise VanderWiere; son, Zach VanderWiere; daughter, Meghan (Tyler) Sloss; brothers Bobby (Kim) VanderWiere and Tim (Norva) VanderWiere; nieces and nephews Katie (Dylan) Pomarius, Karra VanderWiere, Luke VanderWiere, Kelsey VanderWiere, Kayla (JP) Eloff, Trevor (Kenzie Kelly) VanderWiere; honorary sisters Sue (Tom) Moore, Kim Palmer, Sheri (Casey) Wadsworth; father-in-law, Rich Jonick; mother-in-law, Laura Jonick; brother-in-law, Mark (Robin) Jonick; as well as many great-nieces and -nephew.
