Ray Boogaard, age 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, February 27, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary (Zweedyk) Boogaard; wife, Darlene Boogaard; daughter, Vickie Boogaard; brothers Edward, Claude, Bill, Leonard, Marve, John, Fred. He is survived by his daughter, Darlene (Randy) Riegling; son, Ross (Kristin) Boogaard; grandchildren Clint (Haelee) Riegling, Jack Riegling, Mary (Jordan) Potter, Seth Boogaard (Aspen Rice), Ben Boogaard, Leigha (Tim) Zmudka, Ava Boogaard; great-grandson, Easton Potter; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ray proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines in WWll and the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 10-11:45 a.m. prior to service. In honor of Ray, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Emmanuel Hospice or Jenison Bible Church Missions Fund.
