

Raymond Vanden Berg, age 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, January 5, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Karen Vanden Berg. He is survived by children Dave (Julie) Vanden Berg and James (Sara) Vanden Berg; grandchildren Lauren (Kyle), Adam (Jamie), Jacob, and Hanna; great-grandchildren Bryce, Keegan, and Daniel; sister, Ruth (Les) Ruster; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He proudly served his country as a mechanic in the US Army in Korea from 1958-1964. He had many talents and throughout his career he worked as a mechanic, a plumber, a property manager for Prime Bank/First of America and retired from Grand Valley State University as a construction project manager.
Ray was always willing to lend a hand to help family and friends with any projects and home repairs. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Karen, and their family and friends. He and Karen also valued the many years they were able to spend time with their grandchildren. He loved playing golf, both in Michigan, and later in life at Lily Lake in Florida where he wintered for several years.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to service. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
