Richard J Herrema

Richard J Herrema, age 93, of Byron Center, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, December 22, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Herrema; his son, Gary Herrema; and grandson, Rick Herrema.

He is survived by his children, Dick and Mary Herrema, Paul and Jan Gillisse, Brian and Denise Herrema, Boyd and Heidi Herrema; grandchildren, Tony and Amanda, Letha and Nils, Kate, Nick, and Nicki, Janie and John, Ben and Marcia, Rachel and Ben, Derek, Lauren, Adam and Kaley, Aubrey, Aaron, Emarie; his nine great-grandchildren; his sisters, Louise Zeeff and Marge DeBoer; his brother-in-law, Dick Post; and his sister-in-law, Marion Vanden Brand.

Rich was a WWII Veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving in the Philippines on a B-24.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 23, at Second Christian Reformed Church of Byron Center, 7588 Byron Center Ave., with Pastor Adam Nordyke officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery.
