At the Spring gathering a few weeks ago I caught Rick's eyes to receive a great smile and a nod, hello. I thought how nice Rick and Nan are here too. Too far away to talk to him I told myself I will have to find him later. Nice chat with you Nan, but I did not have the talk with Rick. How life changes so quick. His gentle spirit will be missed. Dear Nan and boys, I count myself as SO lucky to have become a friend of your family. I will always treasure the times at the boat, etc., when everyone was able to let down their hair and just enjoy each other's company. Rick was always so generous and a joy to be around.  As Mike & I were talking, we first wished we would have met Rick & you Nan earlier in our lives - we are very thankful for the small amount of time we did get to share with you two. In 1998 I started work at Gateway. It was a very buisy time. I asked Rick why we didn't work overtime and He said. " Its more important to spend time with family".My wife Peg had cancer, and that statment ment the world to me.One day we were having lunch after Pegs chemo at China Inn and She spotted Rick & Nan sitting in the corner and She said to me. "Rick & Nan realy do Love each other Very Much".She was wise that way. Thank-You Rick & Nan for all the time You gave us. I pray every day for You Nan,Rick,& Mike. He is gone but never forgotten.

Rick was one of our classmates here in East Jordan in the Class of 1970. I remember him to be a very honest, kind person with a very engaging smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
