

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Emily Wilkinson; brothers Gary Wilkinson and Marc Wilkinson, and father-in-law, Arthur Thompson.
He will be remembered by his wife, Sharon Schildroth; children Bridget (Justin) Rains, Colleen Ward, Stephanie (Jim) Pabon and Eric Schildroth; grandchildren Avery, Lillian and Josh; sister, Sandy Duron; mother-in-law, Dorothy Thompson, sisters-in-law Connie Fordyce and Linda Wilkinson; brother-in-law, William Fordyce; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Roger was proud of his country and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a championship swimmer during his years in high school and while serving as a Marine, competing in swimming events in various parts of the world. He was an avid Michigan State Spartans’ fan, attending many MSU football games during his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and, most of all, bowling. Roger was a member of multiple community organizations, especially the Michigan State USBC (United States Bowling Congress).
Visitation with relatives and friends will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie, S.W., Grandville, Michigan. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019, with visitation one hour prior, at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie, S.W., Grandville, MI 49418. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
