He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Dan (II) and Shirley VeNard. Roger was the youngest of four children.
Roger graduated from Grandville High School, class of 1982. He went on to work in the medical field and became a pediatric coder, and was employed many years with Cherry Health Services, a position he thoroughly enjoyed. Roger had a deep love of music, theatre, and vintage and classical movies. He was artistic and created several art pieces which are dearly treasured.
Roger had a deep love for his family and never let a day go by without saying, “I love you,” several times. He cherished every friendship. He was extremely bright, very quick witted, and loved to make family and friends laugh. Roger loved quiet moments of prayer and devotion with his Lord. He cherished every moment and lived life well.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dan (II). Roger is survived by his mother, Shirley; brother, Dan (III) (Marva); sister, Sharon; and brother, David (Annette); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Due to an illness in the family, all services have been postponed.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Roger, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guest book online.
