

Born on Friday, March 24, 1933, in Kent County, Rosemary was a lifelong resident who devoted her life to her faith, her family, and her home. On October 12, 1957, she married Philip Holzgen Jr., and together they built a beautiful family rooted in love and Catholic values.
Rosemary was a dedicated homemaker who poured her heart into raising her six children, whom she cherished beyond measure. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life; she was a lifelong and devout member of the Catholic Church and found great joy in her active parish life. She was an Associate Member of the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids, MI.
She is survived by her six children Mark (Susan) Strickfaden, Regina (Bill) Walter, Rosanne (Dave) Kerkstra, Scott Holzgen, Joseph (Sandra) Holzgen, and Brett (Nicolle) Holzgen; sister, Arlene Pattock; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, dear friends, and extended family who will miss her gentle spirit and unwavering love.
Rosemary was predeceased by her first husband, Roger “Chub” Strickfaden; beloved husband, Philip Holzgen Jr.; parents Fred and Amelia Post; three brothers; four sisters; and other loved ones who welcomed her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI. The family welcomes visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the celebration of Mass. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church or Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids.
Rosemary’s family takes comfort in knowing she is now united with her Savior, watching over all of us with the same tender love she showed every day of her life. May she rest in eternal peace.
