Rudy Evelina Halford

HALFORD Vander Poorte – Rudy Evelina Halford, age 68, of Byron Center, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 16, 2010 surrounded by many loving friends and family. Born April 26, 1942, in Edam, Netherlands, Rudy lived and made lifelong friendships with people all over the world during her and husband Addy's career in the US Air Force. Rudy completed Nursing School in Del Rio, Texas and had a long and distinguished career as a Nurse and volunteer with Metropolitan Hospital's Assisted Breathing Unit.

Rudy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Addy; sons, William Halford, John Tracy Halford; and Michael Kameo Halford; daughter, Deborah Don Gunsch Halford; 12 grandchilderen and 4 great grandchildren. Rudy is also survived by two sisters, a brother, and numerous nieces, nephews, and loving family.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Hillside Community Church, 1440 68th St SE with pastor Ron Kool officiating. Interment will be at Winchester. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and the reception at the church immediately following the service. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Byron Center Chapel of Cook Funeral Home, 2067 – 84th SW.
