Russel Scholten, age 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, after a 2 ½ year courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Carole Scholten; children Brian (Lynn) Scholten, Julie (Bob) Haveman, and Cathy (Dan) Atsma; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings Ron (Vera) Scholten, Joanne (Mitch) DeHoog, Jean DeYoung, Marc (Lynda) Scholten, Paul (Louise) Scholten, and Faith Scholten; sisters- and brothers-in-law Ruth (Hi) Scholma and Rog (Shirley) Walcott; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Russ had a profound love for his Lord, his family, and his friends. He served his church as an elder, Cadet leader, and many other areas of service. Russ worked for Steelcase for 28 years as a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker. His passion was golf and he was proud of his two holes in one. He will be deeply missed by so many.
