
HOOPINGARNER - Mrs. Ruth Ann Van Malsen, Bennett Hoopingarner, age 62 of Jenison, was called to her heavenly home in glory Thursday, July 29, 1999. She is survived by her husband Doyle Hoopingarner; her son Daniel and Ginger Van Malsen; grandsons Taylor and Brady Van Malsen; also children by marriage, Lisa and Dan Tyler, Kirk and Kim Hoopingarner, Polly and Terry Sonneveldt, Pam Hodges, Deanna and Joel Allchin, Darci Hoopingarner, and Seth Hoopingarner. Ruth was also blessed with eleven grandchildren by marriage, brother Marvin and Wilma Bennett; sisters, Helen and Edward Kingma, Mary and Willard Kingma, Eleanor and Ronald McKey, Martha and William LeBaron; sisters-in-law, Beatrice Bennett, Geraldine Bennett, and Berl Bennett. Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband Rev. William Van Malsen who passed away in 1983 at the age of 47; her parents William and Bertha Bennett; brothers, Kenneth, Bernard, Edward, William and Bob Bennett. Rev. William Van Malsen and Ruth served at Grant Reformed Church in Grant, Fourth Reformed Church in Holland, Church of the Master in Warren, and Olivet Reformed Church in Grandville. Ruth was a lifelong active member of the Reformed Church. She was a devoted wife, a loving and caring grandmother, and a very special sister. She will be deeply missed by all. Funeral Service will be held Sunday evening 7:30 p.m. from Fair Haven Ministries, 2900 Baldwin, with Pastors Gary VanKoevering and Dr. David Breen assisting. Interment Grandville Cemetery Graveside Service Monday 11 a.m. The family will meet relatives and friends Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. from the Cook Funeral Home-Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW west building. Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Ministries Choir Fund.
