Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Edwin and Nellie (Lindemulder) Baab, she graduated from Benton Harbor High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree cum laude from Central Michigan University. After college, she began her teaching career, teaching home economics for ten years. A blind date with Ted led to their marriage in March 1983. She was so happy to become a mother and spend time with her children.
Ruth Ann deeply cherished her family and friends. She was a woman of integrity, kindness, and selfless love. Above all, Ruth Ann loved her Lord and Savior and wanted others to experience the joy, peace, and contentment she did, from a personal relationship with Jesus.
She will lovingly be remembered by her husband of 43 years, Ted; daughter, Andrea Vernon; son, Scott (Cheri) Vernon; and brothers George (Margie) Baab and John (Janet) Baab. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
Relatives and friends may meet the family from 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Georgetown Cemetery.
