Dear Ryan, I am going to miss you so much. You were such a great buddy to me. We always had so much fun together, and you were always so great to play with me. Remember that Christmas when I was 1-1/2 year old and you and your family got me a play kitchen for Christmas. You spent all of Christmas morning with your cool tools putting it all together, which my daddy said was the best part of his Christmas cuz he didn't have to put it together, and when you got it all together, you sat and had a tea party with me. That was really great. I remember having lots fun swimming with you in the pool at Uncle Ed's party. I love you a lot and thank you for always picking me up and giving me all those great hugs. What I remember is being jealous of you with how much Grandpa Jay adored you and would do anything for you. When you were little running through the trailer, I would hide first in the bathroom and then behind the kitchen counter; and then when you would catch up to me, I would scare the shit out of you, and you'd love it, and we'd do that again and again. There was that time when you were older, when I gave you a ride home from WoodChips in my big red truck so that you could meet Ed coming home from work, we were driving down Byron Center listening to a tape of a funny preacher, which I think I wore that tape out, the message was "What in hell do you want? There must be something in hell that you want for you to act that way!" I turned the tape off and was telling you about when Adam and Eve sinned and ate the fruit, God made a blood sacrifice by killing an animal and then making clothes out of it; and in the Old Testament when people sinned, they used to sacrifice animals like sheep that had no spots. Then Jesus came and He was the ultimate blood sacrifice, the perfect sheep with no spots. You said, "Yeah, I know. I believe in God." I told you that the Bible says if you believe in your heart and you speak it with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord, you will be saved. You told me that you believed in Jesus. Thank God for that little conversation we had. It brings me lots of peace to know that I will see you in Heaven some day. Love, Jeff

I Big Mandy , remember when Ryan was a 'Little Big Head'. So cute,full of of energy, and curious. He carried much of this personality as he grew into a young man. He would ask questions at times, and would`nt give up the subject until he recieved the knowledge he seeked : It`s true when people who knew him say he had a big heart. He was warm and giving. His family has been commented and praised on raising such genuine caring children. They are the most giving family. We will miss Ryan very much. What I remember about Ryan was when we were both little. Ryan was always going somewhere wtih my Grandpa. I could not tell you how many places they could go in a day. When the time came where it wasn't safe for my grandpa to take Ryan places I'm sure it was sad fro both of them. Well now they can go places together again! Ryan- I can't believe that you are gone. I have always thought of you and your brothers as my little brothers ever since I met Billy. The day we were married you became my family and I loved you very much. Your heart and your giving spirit was tremendous. You touched so many in your short time here on earth. I will never forget all of the times we spent with you and your family. You were such a punk at times, but hey, who wasn't. I will never forget the love you showed Chloe. Although you were so much older then her, you always took the time to sit down and play with her, give her a big hug, and listen to her talk. Ryan- I stopped and visited you tonite. I left a robin that Chloe made in school. She wanted it to fly up to heaven and give you a kiss. How do you tell a five year old that paper robin's don't fly. Maybe she knows something I don't know. Maybe it will fly up and give you a kiss.
 She has told you goodnight everynight this week. She tells me every day that you are an angel, and I smile with tears in my eyes and agree.
 As the days go on, the hurt will go away, but the emptiness will stay forever. Miss you and look for that robin.

Ryan- This first Christmas without you was one of difficulty. We celebrated with Jeff and Pam, but it felt odd. You and your family were not with us.
