Sharon Ann Tolan (MacDonald), age 73, went to be with Jesus Thursday, March 3, 2022. Sharon is forever and deeply loved by her husband, Rich Tolan, married May 2, 1992. Sharon and Rich spent many wonderful years traveling, enjoying their cabin up north, and sailing Lake Michigan. She will be remembered with love by her children Kim (Tom) Holloway and Kelli Holmes; grandchildren Taylor (Nathil) Nalakath, Christian and Jackson Holloway, and Chase Pitts; brothers Butch and Greg MacDonald; sisters Nannette MacDonald and Debbie Thrush; in-laws Patricia Carpenter and Larry (Carrie) Tolan; many nieces and nephews; and an abundance of special friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Myrtle MacDonald; brother, Randy MacDonald; in-laws William and Dorothy Tolan; nephews Chad Thrush, William and Patrick Carpenter; sister-in-law, Lydia MacDonald.
Sharon was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. She lived in Grandville, Michigan for 49 years, while working as an x-ray technician for most of that time. Sharon was very social and loved her friends dearly. She enjoyed baking, traveling, sewing, spending time with her family, visiting with friends and neighbors, and was always up for a creative challenge. Sharon was a loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family fiercely. She was beautiful (inside and out), vibrant, kind hearted, and she could light up a room with her infectious smile. She had a gift for connecting with everyone she met and carried the burden of others on her own shoulders. She loved with her whole heart and will be greatly missed.
Proverbs 31:25 - "She is clothed in strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come."
John 14:1-3 - "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
We know that Sharon is present with God because He is faithful to His promises. So, this is not goodbye, it is simply “see you later."
