Stanley Horne

Stanley Horne, age 62, of Jenison, MI (formerly of Ripley, WV) went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, December 6, 2017, after a courageous 20 month battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Minor and Gladys (Casto) Horne, and brother-in-law, Charles Pierson.

He will be remembered by his loving wife, Beth, of 12 years; children Kim (Dan) Racey, Dan Weber, Bryon (Mary) Horne, Steve (Jennifer) Horne; siblings Brenda (Sissy) Pierson; grandchildren Sydney, Treyton, Nora, Jacob, Haley, James(JT), Brody; brother-in-law, Larry Halfmann; special niece Lori Pierson and several other nieces and nephews; and special family friend Val McKnight.

Stanley was a West Virginia coal miner for 17 years. Before moving to Michigan to marry his wife, he owned his own kitchen cabinet business. Stanley was also a volunteer fireman and first responder with Ripley F.D. (West Virginia). In his younger years, he was a member of the Jaycees in Ripley. His interests were refurbishing old cars, woodworking, watching the History Channel, and going to flea markets and antique stores with his wife. Being “Papa” to his grandchildren brought him great joy and he loved spending time with them.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM-12:30PM, with funeral service to follow immediately after, on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Cook Funeral Home (Cook Memorial Chapel) 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI. The family requests casual attire for Stanley's services.

Pastor Brian Bosscher will be officiating. Interment will be at Georgetown Township Cemetery.
