Susanne was born in Grand Rapids and worked at Country Fresh Dairy until she became a stay-at-home mom. Susanne was the wife of Gordon for nearly 40 years and the proud mother of sons Brad and Todd. Sue had wonderful creative skills which included decorating and flower arranging. Her latest love was watercolor painting, which she started doing while spending winter months in Florida. Sue had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody and leaves behind many friends.
Her warmth and loving ways will be dearly missed by her husband Gordon, son Brad and son Todd (Kate), and two precious grand-babies, Lucas and Eli. Sue desperately wanted to see her two grandsons grow into fine young men. Sue was preceded in death by her father Stephen O'Brien. She is survived by her mother, Phyllis O'Brien, sister Linda (Michael) Wilhoit, and brother Mark (Mary) O'Brien. A special thanks to the wonderful staff at Lacks Cancer chemo treatment facility, as well as to the wonderful nursing staff at Lacks Cancer Center and Heartland Hospice.
Memorial visitation with the family will be held 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Cook Funeral Home (West Building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, MI. Memorial service will be held at 12 PM, Thursday, June 4, 2015 with visitation one hour prior at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building). Pastor Larry Terlouw will be officiating.
In honor of Susanne and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mercy Health Lacks Cancer Center and Heartland Hospice, in her name. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcares.com.
