Suzanne "Suzy" Jeanne Koster

KOSTER (WESTRA) Suzanne Jeanne Koster, age 69, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, February 5, 2014. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel Goodemoot; her parents, Irving and Mary Westra; her father-and mother-in-law, Peter and Anna Koster; her brother, Johnny Westra and her brothers-in-law, Nelvin (Irene) Koster and Robert Koster.

Suzanne will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Ken Koster; her children, Ken (Lynnette) Koster, Kim (Marie) Koster, Renee (Jeremy) Goodemoot; her grandchildren, Keri and Kaitlyn Koster, Kaleb and Abigail Goodemoot, Bonham, Cash and Jett Koster; her brother, Tom (Donna) Westra; her sisters-in-law, Chris (Mel) Kruizenga, Clara (Evert) Reurink; and her life-long friends, Pam Schichtel and Nancy Tiesma.

Suzy was a homemaker and caring for her family was her passion. She loved music. She had a Bachelor's Degree from Western Michigan University in Music. Suzy played the oboe in the church orchestra at Grand Rapids First. Some of her favorite things to do with her family were going to church, fast rides in boats and cars, going to the beach at Lake Michigan, teaching swimming, cooking, sewing, doing crafts and going to garage sales.

A time for relatives and friends to visit with Suzy's family will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Cook Funeral Home in Byron Center, 2067 84th St. SW. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, February 10, at Grand Rapids First - Prayer Chapel, 2100 44th St. SW, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Pastor Jack Pepple will be officiating. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery. In honor of Suzy, contributions may be made to Grand Rapids First, Faith Hospice - Trillium Woods or Lack's Cancer Center - Mercy Healthcare.
