So sorry to the family, his children and friends . Glad we got to visit with Tommy at the lake in October . We share in your sadness of his sudden passing. He had a impact on everyone he met. Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Tommy made a lasting impact on my life for the short amount of time I’ve knew him. When I first met him he treated me like his own family, welcoming me with open arms. The way he cared about his family and the people around him speaks depth about him as a person ,from being a huge part of this community to being a father to his kids. I’m grateful for the moments I’ve had with Tommy. His influence will stay with me in the way I love along with the way I will support the people close to me. I will always carry the lessons and he shared with me, Tommy will forever be remembered not only for the life he lived but for the way he impacted so many others. I love you Tommy rest in peace🩷.

As we grew older, it was great to see Tommy not just as a cousin or wrestler, but as a man.  Tommy was a father of 4, and was one who always put his kids' needs ahead of his own.  I can't imagine he missed many of his kids' events, whether it be a football game, swim meet, water polo game, wrestling match, etc..  You could see the pride shine through as he talked about his kids' accomplishments. Tommy was also a legend in the Grandville community as a longtime youth coach, HS assistant, and lifelong Grandville wrestling supporter.  Although our lives get busy growing up, Tommy became someone whom I could and did turn to talk about adversity and struggles that can come with life, and he always had some good perspective to share.  I only wish I had more opportunities for these talks.  You may be gone, but the memories for me are definitely alive in my heart.

As Thanksgiving came and passed, I had a lot to be thankful for, but I am still reeling from the loss of my cousin, Tommy Graverson.  In life, you can often say, I don't know where I would be in life without this person.  It was through the closeness of our families, celebrating holidays, birthday parties, pool parties, etc.. that he helped provide an early path to where my life would take me.  As a kid, I can't remember a Graverson birthday party or Christmas where it didn't involve me and cousin Tom Tom wrestling in the basement, living room, or wherever.  This soon launched me into starting wrestling at the age of 10.  I remember our families traveling together across the state, enjoying dinners after making weigh-ins, and being in one another's corners.

Happy Birthday in Heaven, Tommy.
Not a day will go by that we don’t think of you, miss you, and feel the space you’ve left behind. You always made me laugh, and I’m so grateful for every memory  we shared. If I would’ve only known the last time I saw you would be my last hug, I would’ve held on longer and never let go.

Your kindness, your humor, and the way you cared for everyone will always stay with us. You remain through your kids—your love, your spirit, and the parts of you that live on so clearly in them. Today, we celebrate you—your life, your love, and the memories that continue to bring comfort.

As I started practice Friday night, with many of the wrestlers whose wrestling experiences were impacted by Tommy Graverson, I was left with a feeling of devastation.  It has taken a few days to comprehend, but for everything Tommy has done for me and the Grandville wrestling program, I need to express my deepest gratitude for everything he has done for our wrestling community.
Tommy gave his time, energy, and heart to building something truly meaningful, coaching youth, middle school, and high school wrestlers with a passion that lifted everyone around him. Building wrestlers with a strong passion and grassroots technique that he was taught by his wrestling coaches.  
He wasn’t just a coach; he was a mentor, a builder, and a steady presence who helped shape countless young athletes both on and off the mat. His commitment and love for the sport created opportunities, traditions, and memories that will continue to impact our community for years to come.
Thank you, Tommy, for believing in our kids, for investing in our programs, and for leaving a legacy that will carry on through every wrestler you inspired. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, keep an eye on us, these kids should provide some exciting wrestling in the years to come.

Dear dad, I still can not believe that this is real and I am writing this. You have taught me so many things in life that I will forever cherish. You showed me what real strength is, how to stand tall no matter what, and how to believe in myself even when I’m unsure. The list goes on, but the most important thing that you taught me was how to love and care for the people that mean the most to me.  As I continue through life, I will always remember your lessons and try my best to be as strong as you always believed I could be. I rarely saw you cry, but whenever I did it was always because of how proud you are of us, and I will continue to make you proud. Tommy was always such a great mentor/coach and was always in my corner whenever I needed and I wish I could thank him for that. ❤️

I never thought I would have to write something like this until we were both old and grey, but sadly it didn’t turn out that way. On November 28th my father suddenly passed away. That’s not something that is or ever will be easy for me to say. Today, of all days, would be the day that it hits even harder. I would normally watch the clock strike midnight so I could be the first one to FaceTime you, but this time you couldn’t answer. Today would’ve been your 51st birthday. It all still doesn’t feel real nor do I think it ever will. You were such a huge part of this community in more ways than you can even imagine. You impacted so many people throughout your lifetime. Whether that be from the teammates you grew up with, to all the youth wrestlers you coached throughout the years. That even includes your own kids. I never saw you cry much, but when you did it was always because of how proud you were of us. You never failed to show us how proud you truly were of us in everything that we did it life. You’d show up to every game pacing back and forth in the corner as you cheered us on. You were one of my greatest supporter and I wouldn’t be half the person or athlete today without you by my side. You taught me how to stay strong, to never give up, no matter what it is. You taught me that if I put my mind to it that I could go out there, put in the work, and make it happen. And I did. I did it all with you by my side every step of the way. I will forever be grateful for that, for the time I did get to spend with you and all the endless amounts of memories that we made together.

Dear Dad,
Happy first heavenly birthday.
You closed your eyes for the last time two days ago, and I still can’t believe that it’s real. Words can’t describe the hole you leave in our lives.
I know we didn’t always see eye to eye, and I’m so sorry for that. I wish we had more time, just one more conversation. But I know you’re watching down on me, telling me to keep my chin up.
Thank you for teaching me to be strong. That hard work and dedication will rise above all else. That if I get knocked down, to never stay down and throw a punch when I get back up. You made me tough, and I can’t thank you enough for it.
All my life I watched you make an impact on everyone’s life around you. From former teammates, to friends, to athlete’s, to our family. You always instilled in everyone to strive for greatness, in the most unselfish way possible. You pushed everyone around you to succeed, and we all felt it. You made us feel so loved.
I became a coach after watching you pour into the next generation my whole life. You accomplished so many great things as an athlete and coach, and I hope I make you proud with my coaching.
You take a piece of my heart with you for the rest of time, it’s your to keep forever and always.

Reid Graverson

Dear Dad, 
First off Happy 51st birthday, your first without me in 19 years. It is unbelievable that I am having to write this so soon but here we go. You have always been there for us 4 kids, the good or the bad. Always making sure that we did our best and that you were proud of us. You have left an impact on hundreds of people through your lifetime, being a “Legend” in our community. Being as great of a friend, Uncle, Brother, and most importantly a father as you could possibly be. I just want to give you one more hug and spend my life with you. I know I will just have to wait to see you down the road. Your impact on my life cannot be described in just a paragraph. I just hope you know that you left with everyone around you love you so deeply. I love you so much dad, I’m gonna miss you so much. ❤️❤️

Dear Graverson Family, 
We are devastated of hearing the news of Tommy’s passing. My husband and I were introduced to Tommy by our SIL Bubba Gritter. From that day forward we took a liking to Tommy. He always sought out my husband and I at wrestling events and always greeting us with hi Mr. and Mrs Olson which included a handshake and a hug for me. He would always carry a conversation on with us and as my husband and I walked away from visiting with Tommy, we both would always say now there is a guy that has manors and respect.  When he was working in Barryton area a year or two back he was suppose to come to our home for dinner. We could never get a date scheduled. We will miss seeing him at wrestling events, our conversation and his hug, but mostly his smile and his smiling eyes. Know we are thinking of you during this difficult time. Tommy was a great guy.

I will never forget Tommy. One of the toughest   Wrestlers in Grandville history! I am happy to have won a Team State Championship with him as a leader. We all looked up to Tommy and the guys to for their leadership and class. They guided us all to the top. While, I did not know him well in adulthood as we all grow up and go our separate ways in life. I am a better person because of him having spent even 6 minutes of life around him. Rest in peace, brother! My heart goes out to the family at this time of hardship! I lost my dad last year and its just hard and overwhelming but it gets easier. Take comfort knowing he will live on in your hearts and memories and forever on the wall in the Grandville wrestling room.

Chloe, Reid, Lauren and Tessa - 

We were deeply saddened to hear of your dad’s passing. Over the years, I had the pleasure to be on the receiving end of him sharing just how proud he was of each of you. Chloe - I don’t think we ever met, but your dad was so proud of you and beamed when talking about you coaching polo. Reid - it never failed that during the home football games,  I could count on your dad to fill me in on how you were doing that season, how your leg was healing, and what you were going to do after your last season. He loved watching you play and was so grateful for the years he had coaching. Lauren and Tessa - this is where I got to know your dad the best. On the sidelines at every soccer match, swim meet or polo match; sharing a table at the swim banquets because it was a familiar face in the crowd. Or the day he came and picked up the polo rebounder to give you (for Christmas?). You all meant so much to him and he loved you dearly. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
