

Rev. Thomas W. Zylstra, a disciple of Jesus, left this life and said goodbye at age 94 on November 16, 2019. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Zylstra; and siblings Paul (Sue), Lucille (Roy), Carol, Mary (Irv), and Jon.
He leaves behind children Stephen (Helen) Zylstra, and Kim (Sherry) Zylstra; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings Dave (Bea) and Jim (Marilyn); brother-in-law, Art; sister-in-law, Dorothy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Thomas served in the United States Army during WWII on Saipan, where he was called by God to preach the ‘Good News.’ He was ordained at Western Theological Seminary RCA of Holland, MI. He pastored while in Georgia, Iowa, South Dakota, Indiana, Manitoba, Canada, and at Remembrance Reformed and Aberdeen Reformed in Grand Rapids.
Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Cook Funeral Home - Byron Center Chapel, 2067 - 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Corinth Reformed Church, 129 - 100th St. SE, Byron Center, MI 49315.
In memory of Thomas and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Emmanuel Hospice or Sunset Legacy Foundation.
