Vernon L. Jeffers

JEFFERS - Mr. Vernon “Lee” Jeffers, age 84, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2006. Lee served with the Merchant Marines during WWII sailing in both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Later, he enjoyed calling on his customers as a beauty supply sales rep.

Lee was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Virginia, brother, Bobby Jeffers, and sister, Roberta Sherburn.

Surviving are his children, James Jeffers of IA, Mark Jeffers of HI, and Marsha Jim Rago of Kentwood; granddaughters, Chelsea, and Kendall; brothers, Billy Mary Jeffers of FL, Dan Kay Jeffers of WV, and special nephew and niece, David and Becky and their families.

Relatives and friends may meet Lee’s family Friday from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Berean Baptist Church, 1574 Coit NE, followed by his memorial service. Those unable to attend may sign the family’s Memory book at www.cookfuneralservices.com.
