Walter “Sonny” DeWitt, age 93, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, November 29, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn DeWitt; daughter, Sue Jones; parents Genevieve and Willard DeWitt; and son-in-law, Steve Goodmonson.
He will be remembered by his children Jan (Dave) Post, Bob (Julie) DeWitt; eight grandchildren Bryan, Amy, Steph, Eric, Wyatt (Melissa), Jacob (Amber); six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law Bill (Joanne) Jones; and many friends.
Walt served proudly during World War II in the Army Air Corps.
Visitation with relatives and friends will be held from 3 - 6:30 PM, Monday, December 3, 2018 with Funeral Service to immediately follow at 6:30 PM at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Pastor John Nauta will be officiating. Interment is at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In honor of Walter and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Red Cloud Indian School, 100 Mission Dr., Pine Ridge, South Dakota 57770.
