

Wayne Hinken, age 85, went peacefully to be with his Lord Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Kate Hinken; and brother, Allyn Hinken. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Marlene Hinken; children Doug (Debra) Hinken, Lori (Paul) Spoelstra, Pam (Dan) Schaafsma, Kraig (Tonya) Hinken, Kevin (Cathy) Hinken; grandchildren Doug and Debra’s children: Nathaniel (Genelle) Hinken, Jared (Kacey) Hinken, Rachelle (Dakota) Hammond, Mallory Hinken; Lori and Paul’s children: Sam (Tobi Jo) Spoelstra, Max (Brianna Steiner) Spoelstra, Maggie (Noah Lynch) Spoelstra; Pam and Dan’s children: Jeff Schaafsma, Steven (Hannah) Schaafsma, Emily (Carson) Brauer, Kraig and Tonya’s children: Hailey (Cory) Menichini, Elizabeth Hinken, Brooklyn Hinken; Kevin and Cathy’s children: Josh (Tesla) Hinken, Jenna Hinken; great-grandchildren Jordan, Eden, Elliana, and one on the way; sister-in-law, Judy Hinken; in-laws Kelvin and Ellen Kronemeyer, Jerry and Carol Berghorst, Ron and Linda Kronemeyer, Tim and Pat Bosscher; and many cousins and friends.
Wayne was an Army veteran. He worked for Michigan Bell for 35 years. Wayne enjoyed Sandy Pines and traveling with his wife and family; above all, Wayne’s passion was for his family.
Visitation with Wayne’s family and friends will be held 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building) 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI. Celebration of Wayne’s life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, with an hour visitation prior to service, at Grace Bible Church, 3715 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418.
